Terms of Use
Last updated 09/17/2026
These Terms of Use ("TOU") govern your access to and use of the Healthread website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these TOU. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Service.
We may update these TOU from time to time. Continued use of the Service after updated terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated TOU.
1. ELIGIBILITY AND REPRESENTATIONS
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
By using the Service, you represent that you are not barred from using it under applicable laws.
2. PRIVACY POLICY
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these TOU. The Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, which service providers (including AI providers) process it, and the choices you have.
3. LICENSE GRANT
Subject to compliance with these TOU, Healthread grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial use.
For app/software components, the license applies to object-code use on devices you own or control.
4. REGISTRATION, ACCOUNT SECURITY, AND ACCOUNT DELETION
You agree to provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
You are responsible for account activity and for safeguarding your credentials. Notify security@healthread.com immediately if unauthorized access occurs.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings > Account Status > Delete). Deleting your account permanently removes your account and the data described in our Privacy Policy. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Healthread's access to your Apple ID sign-in.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings to stop future charges.
5. COMMUNITY CONTENT, REPORTING, AND BLOCKING
You are solely responsible for content you post or submit through the Service, including posts, threads, replies, and comments.
Healthread has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report any post, thread, reply, comment, or user, and block any user, from the options menu next to that content or on their profile. Content from people you block is hidden from you.
If you post anonymously, your name is hidden from other users, but Healthread can still identify the author in order to review reports, enforce these TOU, and comply with the law. Anonymous content can be reported and blocked like any other content.
We review reports, and we may remove content and suspend or terminate the accounts of users who violate these TOU.
6. RIGHTS TO CONTENT
You retain ownership of your content, but grant Healthread a license to host, use, reproduce, distribute, adapt, display, and process it to operate, promote, and improve the Service, subject to the limits in these TOU and our Privacy Policy. Skin analysis photos are never used to train AI models unless you opt in as described in Section 9.
Healthread and its licensors own the Service and related intellectual property, including marks and branding.
7. USER CONDUCT
You agree not to post unlawful, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, infringing, or harmful content, including dangerous health misinformation; send spam; impersonate others; disrupt the Service; scrape with bots; or violate laws.
8. AI FEATURES AND THIRD-PARTY AI PROVIDERS
Some features of the Service use artificial intelligence provided by third parties. Healthread AI chat and voice messages, medicine label and prescription scanning, medication information and interaction summaries, and the automated review of posts before you publish them are powered by AI models from OpenAI.
When you use these features, the information needed to provide them is sent to Healthread and to OpenAI. For example, Healthread AI receives your chat messages, voice recordings, and previous Healthread AI conversation history. We ask for your permission before you first use Healthread AI, and you can choose not to use it.
AI-generated responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. They are provided for general information only, are not medical advice, and must not be relied on in an emergency. Always confirm medicines and doses and talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your health.
9. SKIN ANALYSIS
Skin analysis is available only to users aged 18 or older. It is an analysis of your skin photo performed by AI, provided for informational and cosmetic purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide a medical diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. Skin photos are processed using machine-learning infrastructure hosted by Amazon Web Services.
Before each analysis you must agree to the service limitations and to the AI processing and storage of your photos needed to perform the analysis. Separately, you may choose to allow your photos and derived data to be used to train, test, and improve AI models. That choice is optional, is made for each analysis, and does not change the analysis or what you pay.
10. SYMPTOM CHECKER
The symptom checker uses differential diagnosis technology from Isabel Healthcare. It is for informational purposes only and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your healthcare provider or emergency services immediately.
11. APPLE HEALTH AND HEALTH CONNECT
If you choose to connect Apple Health (on iPhone) or Health Connect (on Android), Healthread reads only the data types you approve, such as steps, heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, and menstrual cycle data, to keep your trackers and cycle predictions up to date. Healthread does not write data to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Health data from these sources is never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and is never sold. You can stop sharing at any time in your device's Health or Health Connect settings.
12. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND IN-APP PURCHASES
Healthread Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the price shown in the app unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. You can restore previous purchases from the paywall.
Premium includes a monthly allowance of skin analyses, as shown in the app. Unused monthly analyses do not carry over to the next period.
Skin analysis credit packs are one-time, consumable in-app purchases. Purchased credits do not expire, are tied to your Healthread account, and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy.
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
13. SUGGESTIONS AND FEEDBACK
Any suggestions or feedback you provide may be used by Healthread without restriction or compensation.
14. DEALINGS WITH ADVERTISERS AND THIRD PARTIES
Interactions with third parties through the Service are between you and those third parties.
15. DEALINGS WITH OTHER USERS
Your interactions with other users are at your own risk. Healthread does not guarantee user content accuracy or safety.
16. NO MEDICAL ADVICE
THE SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE. Content, including AI-generated responses, AI skin analyses, and symptom checker output, is informational only and is not a substitute for professional medical care. Use of the Service does not create a healthcare provider-patient relationship. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
18. MODIFICATIONS TO THE SERVICE
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or parts of it at any time.
19. TERMINATION
We may terminate access for violations or other reasons. Surviving provisions remain in effect after termination.
20. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold Healthread harmless for claims arising from your use of the Service, your content, or violations of these TOU or law.
21. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
22. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by law, Healthread is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Aggregate liability is limited as described by applicable TOU terms.
23. GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE
These TOU are governed by New York law, with venue as specified in Kings County, New York, subject to arbitration terms.
24. BINDING ARBITRATION AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER
Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration under applicable AAA rules, with class action and jury trial waivers to the extent permitted by law.
25. APP STORE AND GOOGLE PLAY TERMS; THIRD-PARTY BENEFICIARIES
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these TOU are between you and Healthread only, not Apple. Healthread, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Healthread, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, and claims that the app or your use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these TOU and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you. Use of the app downloaded from Google Play is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Except as stated in this section, these TOU do not create third-party beneficiary rights.
27. GENERAL PROVISIONS
These TOU are the complete agreement regarding the Service and may only be modified as provided by Healthread.
